Mobile Tyre Fitting at Home: Everything You Need to Know.
Getting tyres fitted at home is the most convenient option for most drivers. Here is everything you need to prepare, what to expect, and how to get the most from a home visit.
Why Mobile Tyre Fitting at Home Makes Sense
The traditional tyre-fitting experience involves booking days ahead, driving to a garage, waiting in a reception area, and driving back. Mobile tyre fitting at home eliminates all of that. You book a time that suits you, our technician arrives at your home, and your tyres are fitted while you're inside doing something useful. No waiting room. No trip across town. No disruption to your day.
What You Need to Prepare for a Home Visit
Access to the Vehicle
The technician needs to work around your vehicle. Ideally, you'll have:
- The vehicle parked on a firm, flat surface — a driveway or quiet road
- Space around the vehicle for the technician to work safely (ideally 1–2 metres on each side)
- Access to the vehicle interior for the ignition (to check TPMS) and wheel access points
The technician arrives in a large van with equipment, so if your driveway has restricted width, let us know when booking.
Locking Wheel Nut Key
If your vehicle has locking wheel nuts, locate the key socket before the technician arrives. It's usually in the boot tool kit, glove compartment, or with the spare wheel. Without it, the technician cannot remove the wheels.
Tyre Size Confirmation
You don't need to know your tyre size — we look it up from your registration. But if you have a specific tyre brand or type in mind, let us know when booking.
Can Mobile Tyre Fitting Be Done on a Road?
Yes. If you don't have a driveway, we can work on the road outside your house. The technician sets up safety cones and equipment. This is standard practice and works perfectly on quiet residential streets. For busier roads, a driveway or off-road location is safer and preferred.
What If the Road Is on a Slope?
Mild slopes are manageable — we use wheel chocks and take appropriate safety precautions. For steep slopes, we may ask you to reposition the vehicle. Contact us if you're concerned about your specific location and we'll assess in advance.
How to Book Mobile Tyre Fitting at Home
- Call TyreForce on 0800 772 0355 or book online
- Provide your vehicle registration, location, and preferred time
- We confirm tyre availability and the appointment
- The technician arrives at the agreed time (or within the agreed window for scheduled bookings)
Can I Book for Multiple Cars at My Address?
Yes. If you have two household vehicles that both need tyres, we can handle both in a single visit. This is especially popular with families and couples — one technician visit, both cars sorted. Mention this when booking so we ensure we have the right stock for both vehicles.
What's Included in a Home Visit
- Supply and fitting of the new tyre(s)
- Removal and responsible disposal of old tyre(s)
- New valve fitting (standard)
- Dynamic wheel balancing
- Torque wrench finish to manufacturer specification
- Pressure check and TPMS reset (where applicable)
Do I Need to Be Present During the Fitting?
You need to be present at the start to hand over the keys (for TPMS and to confirm correct vehicle). You can then go back inside — our technicians work independently. We'll knock or call when finished. For payment, we'll process this at the point of booking confirmation or at completion — your preference.
