Tyres Fitted at Home: How It Works
Having tyres fitted at home means a fitter brings the equipment to your drive or parking space, so you do not need to take the car to a garage. It is the same job, done where the car is.
What the van carries
A mobile tyre van has a tyre changer, wheel balancer, compressor, jack and the tools needed to remove and refit wheels, along with a stock of common tyre sizes or your pre-ordered tyres.
What you need to provide
- A level spot where the van can park close to the car
- Your locking wheel nut key, if your car has locking nuts (if it is missing, see locking wheel nut removal)
- Access to the car's registration or tyre size so we bring the right tyre
How long does it take?
A single tyre can often be done in around 20 to 30 minutes on site, and a full set of four takes longer. We confirm timings when you book.
Steps
- Call or book with your registration and tyre size.
- We agree a price and an arrival slot.
- The fitter removes the wheel, fits the new tyre, balances it and checks the pressure.
- You pay and the old tyre is taken away for recycling.
At work too
The same works in a workplace car park, so you do not lose time off work. See mobile tyre fitting near you, our home fitting guide, or the locations we cover.
